Salty Souls Portugal offers surf lessons on the best beaches near Lisbon: Guincho, Carcavelos, and Praia Grande. We choose the beach daily based on wave and wind conditions to ensure the safest and most fun experience.

Important: All surf lessons must be booked in advance to confirm location and time.

1. What should I bring to my surf lesson?
We provide all surf equipment: board, wetsuit, and insurance.
Just bring your swimwear, towel, sunscreen, water, and a good vibe!
2. Can I choose the time of my surf lesson?
Surf lesson times are based on daily ocean conditions—tide, wind, and swell—to ensure the best and safest session.
3. Where are the lessons held and where do we meet?
We run our surf lessons at different beaches depending on the sea and weather conditions to ensure the best possible experience:
- Guincho Beach – Best in summer, known for consistent and mellow waves.
Meeting point: Next to Hotel Fortaleza do Guincho
Carcavelos Beach – Ideal in winter, more protected from big swells.
Meeting point: Next to Casa da Praia Bar
4. How do I book a surf lesson?
In order to book your lesson, you can either use our website booking system or directly pay your lesson, lessons package or combined deposit by bank transfer.
So that we can organize ourselves with our instructors, we only consider lessons directly booked on our website and all other reservations after full-payment.
After booking our team will contact you to organize the schedule and meeting point!
5. Do you offer lessons for different surf levels?
We have 2 learning levels: beginners and intermediates.
Beginner lessons are for those who are going to try for the very first time, have not surfed for a long time, or for those who have already surfed a few times but still need to learn technical aspects to take it to the next step.
Intermediate lessons are for those who are already comfortable in the ocean, subject to different conditions, and know how to catch a green wave without the instructor´s help. These are classes in which you learn more advanced techniques, such as positioning yourself in the waves, how to make more difficult drops, body movements, among others.
